F is for Fighters and Flamethrowers

Couple MMA fighter studies. I felt like there was much to learn from the action pose with two fighters, so expect to see more of those in the future. While not completely happy with how the second turned out, there are still parts that I'm very pleased with. I might revisit it further to bring it to a more polished state.

Also did a tiny bit of 3D (gasp!). Just a little power-up for now. You can see the original sprite from Contra on the left. There are some gun scribbles in my sketchbook that I'm eager to get started on next. Fun fun!

Long Face Study

Spent most of today working on this pretty face. Nothing feels better than producing something like this after struggling to produce something like this. Also, hair is the enemy. Down with hair.

This needs a new post.

Been working on learning darker skin complexion. Contra is a two player game so I was thinking of making Bill (Player 2) a black variant instead of the original who looks exactly like Lance with different colored pants. Hopefully I'll have some more finished looking stuff and everything soon!...really need to do some memory stuff too...
